Dude, I love it! Now, did you get all of that in like a set (all together) or were they all like separate pieces?

I bought all the stuff separate. Amazon has pretty good french presses and tea pots that are reasonably priced.

Ok hello, nice to meet another tea addict. Really, though, French press?
So first thing I would like to suggest that you buy, something every single kitchen and hotel room in Japan (the brilliant people ;) ) have is a Zojirushi…
so you never boil hot water again:

My question is this: Doesn’t French press have the smell of coffee? I use Ingenuie Tea to brew then drip it over my cup.

I also use Raw honey instead of the Agave Nectar….wonder how the latter would taste.
Great stuff. Tea rocks! I love Oolongs to bits!

Farnoosh,

Thanks for the recommendations. Never seen the hot water heater. That looks awesome!

I love honey especially for the additional benefits it brings (anti-allergen) but I enjoy agave nectar because it doesn’t spike my blood sugar like honey does. Honey with Oolong is a must, I definitely do agree.

The french press I use is only used for tea so It doesn’t have any coffee residue in it. If you make espresso in your french press I would definitely recommend using a separate one that you use only for tea.

For me the french press saves me time and allows me to enjoy my tea more quickly :) I keep it in the thermos to keep it warm and drink all day long. Otherwise I would need to steep multiple times.

First, I want to apologize for sounding so strong in my initial comment (my husband is always getting on me about this :) )!
Having said that, the hot water heater will change your life! I could not live without it now. Ready hot water for soups, cooking, tea, topping the espress….I gave up my espresso except when I travel to must-drink-espresso countries….And yes that makes perfect sense if you have an exclusive French press for tea.
I am inspired to make a tea video now and I will be sure to link back to this place whence my inspiration came! Thanks Nicholas and happy brewing!

I got my Yerba Mate this week – gave it a try but I think I may have made it a little strong – got a good days work done though!

French press works for me but might try the hot water heater suggested by Farnoosh!

Woody,

Glad you got your Mate! Thats awesome! I find it makes me super productive. I’ve used Tim Ferriss’ work combo in the past for outstanding results.

3 Cups of Mate to 1 Cup of Red Wine (I don’t drink more than 2 glasses) for amazing productivity/creativity. Definitely try it out.

By any chance did you buy “Smoked/Roasted” Mate? If so it might be a bit strong if you are just starting out.

Whats Tim Ferriss’ work combo then?

I will give the Mate and red wine ago – how did you find that one out? A night drink?

Potentially – I got the one with stems because it said it was better for beginners but tbh the whole thing smells a little like tabacco! I will perservere though, might try mixing it with some other teas too.

Woody, I thought I dropped this link. Guess I missed it.

That is Tim’s combo and I personally love it. Just to be clear I don’t mix them, just drink them separate.

I would also recommend getting Vinturi Essential Wine Aerator if you drink a lot of red wine. It totally opens it up and makes it much more enjoyable.

Tims’ combo looks very interesting – will check it out, seems oddly appropriate from the first few paragraphs!

£40 in the uk…will get one for the summer though ;)

You might also try adding some loose leaf peppermint to your Mate. Its pretty good and adds flavor.
